John Lammers came to America from Germany in late 1857. He ultimately settled in Northeast Nebraska where he practiced the coopers trade and ranched. JOHN WAS A SOUND MAN OF DEDICATED FAITH TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, HE WAS AN INITIAL FOUNDER OF THE LAMMERS CHAPEL (IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH & CEMETERY) IN ST. HELENA, NEBRASKA. He was known as the “Cattle King” of Cedar County and was credited with being the first person to ship fat cattle in the area. John lived a joyful life, being married two different times and raising 20 kids. He died in June 1897.
Since then, over six generations have been raising cattle, milking cows, and ranching in Cedar County, Nebraska. Given this history, we know how critical the care of each animal is to produce premium high-quality beef, how to be conscious stewards of our land and to create a lasting homestead for generations to come.
